Ukraine’s General Staff says Russia preparing layered defense in Zaporizhzhya direction

The military also noted that the enemy is not conducting active hostilities in the Kharkiv direction.
“(The Russians) main efforts were focused on ensuring the withdrawal of troops from the city of Kharkiv, maintaining the occupied positions and supply routes,” the report says.
In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy carried out artillery shelling of civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Dovhenke, Dolyna and Husarivka.
In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the invaders used mortars, artillery, rocket-propelled grenades and aircraft to inflict maximum losses on Ukrainian forces, deplete Ukraine’s personnel, and destroy fortifications.

In addition, the enemy is trying to improve their tactical position in the areas of Komyshuvakha, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka and Pobieda. However, there have not yet been successful.
“In the city of Mariupol, the enemy continues to blockade our units near the Azovstal plant, conducting massive artillery and air strikes,” the Ukrainian military said.

The situation in the South Buh river area has not changed significantly. The enemy continues to shell the Ukrainian positions with the use of mortars and artillery.
The General Staff said that in the Siversky direction, the enemy is shoring up defenses near the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Bryansk and Kursk regions.

At the same time, in the Volyn and Polisia directions, the enemy did not take active action.
“Up to seven battalions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to carry out tasks to cover the Ukrainian-Belarusian border,” reads the report.
“The military equipment and property of the Russian armed forces are being withdrawn from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.”
