MIDDLETOWN — More than 10 years after 30-year-old Diana Eichler was found dead at Miner Falls, officials are offering a $25,000 reward for information about her killer.
Gov. Ned Lamont singed a proclamation Tuesday offering the reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in the case, the city of Middletown said in a statement Wednesday.
On June 16, 2012, two hikers found a trail of blood leading to a woman’s body inside a drainage tunnel off Miner Street in Middletown. The victim of an apparent homicide was later identified as Eichler, a resident of New Britain and the mother of a 5-year-old daughter at the time.
Middletown police have said in the past that they believed Eichler had been killed in another location and that her body was dragged to where she was later discovered.
The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office said Eichler died of trauma to the head. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Police have continued to investigate the case and have followed up on numerous leads. They are asking for the public’s help to solve the crime.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective C. Iovene at 860-638-4148.
